Job Description

The Pipeline Technician is responsible for the safe operation, monitoring, and maintenance of pipeline systems and associated equipment. This role requires working independently in field environments to ensure efficient product transport, system integrity, and compliance with safety and regulatory standards. The technician will perform routine inspections, troubleshoot mechanical issues, and support overall field operations.

Responsibilities

  • Operate, monitor, and maintain pipeline systems and related equipment
  • Perform routine inspections to ensure system integrity and identify potential issues
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and operational problems in the field
  • Monitor pressures, flow rates, and system performance to ensure optimal operation
  • Conduct preventive maintenance on pumps, valves, and pipeline infrastructure
  • Respond to alarms, leaks, or abnormal operating conditions and take corrective action
  • Maintain accurate records, logs, and reports of field activities
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and company procedures
  • Work independently to manage assigned routes, sites, or systems
  • Coordinate with field personnel, control room operators, and supervisors as needed
  • Support emergency response activities when required
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment

Skills

  • Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and reporting
  • Knowledge of pipeline systems, pumps, and valves (preferred)
  • Understanding of safety practices and regulatory compliance
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to quickly learn new systems, processes, and technologies
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Vocational or technical training preferred
  • Prior experience in oil & gas, pipeline operations, lease operations, or water transfer preferred
  • Basic mechanical experience or training required
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to work extended shifts, rotational schedules, and nights as required
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Physically capable of performing fieldwork, including lifting and manual labor

Job Details

  • Pay: $35/per hr
  • Schedule: 14hr shift 7/7 rotation. Every third 2-3 hitches working nights.
