CarePartners of Connecticut is seeking a dedicated Nurse Extern to support our mission of improving community health through compassionate, coordinated care. As a Nurse Extern, you will work under the direct supervision of licensed nursing staff to provide safe, patient-centered care within our Healthcare & Medical Services department. In this role, you will assist with basic nursing procedures such as obtaining and documenting vital signs, monitoring patient status, and supporting patients with activities of daily living, while consistently demonstrating empathy, professionalism, and respect for patient dignity. You will document care accurately in electronic health records, communicate timely and relevant patient information to supervising nurses and providers, and play an active role in fostering effective care coordination across our network of partnered healthcare providers. Collaborating closely with nurses, physicians, and allied health professionals, you will contribute to a robust, efficient care environment that supports high-quality healthcare service delivery. The Nurse Extern will also help educate patients and families about basic health practices, reinforce care plans, and promote understanding of treatment and follow-up instructions. You will be expected to adhere to all safety, infection prevention, and regulatory requirements while maintaining a clean, organized, and patient-focused environment. As part of CarePartners’ culture of collaboration and continuous improvement, you will participate in ongoing training, receive mentoring and performance feedback, and actively develop your clinical skills to prepare for a future role as a professional nurse.
