CarePartners of Connecticut is seeking a motivated Nurse Extern to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team and contribute to our mission of improving community health through compassionate, patient-centered care. As a Nurse Extern, you will work under the direct supervision of licensed nursing staff to provide safe, high-quality care to patients while gaining valuable, hands-on clinical experience that supports your transition from nursing student to professional nurse. In this role, you will assist with direct patient care activities, including monitoring vital signs, supporting activities of daily living, assisting with basic wound care, collecting specimens, and reinforcing education and comfort measures for patients and families. You will accurately observe, document, and report changes in patient status in the electronic medical record (EMR), helping the clinical team respond quickly and effectively to patient needs. Working as part of an interdisciplinary team, you will collaborate closely with nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to support coordinated, efficient care delivery within our network of partnered providers. You will consistently follow infection prevention and patient safety protocols, maintain a clean and organized care environment, and uphold all regulatory and privacy requirements, including HIPAA and patient rights. This position is ideal for nursing students who are passionate about community health and eager to develop strong clinical skills in a supportive, learning-focused environment.
