Find out more about the daily tasks, overall responsibilities, and required experience for this opportunity by scrolling down now.The Manager Safety is a first-level manager that will manage and execute on organizational safety programs to prevent injuries and work-related health conditions and comply with applicable regulatory requirements. This role will promote and work to maintain a safe and healthy work environment by collaborating with various departments to minimize workplace hazards and foster a culture of safety.
Duties and Responsibilities of the Position:
· Analyze and classify risks and losses and measure financial impact upon the company.
· Design and direct programs to reduce accidents, occupational illness, and exposure to long term health hazards.
· Train employees and management in safety practices.
· Investigate accidents, injuries, or occupational illnesses to determine causes and preventive measures.
· Review plans and specifications for construction or purchase of new machinery or equipment to determine whether all safety requirements have been met.
· Conduct safety audits, record, and rate severity level, and assign responsibility for corrective actions.
· Coach site-specific leadership team on the expectations, tools, and implementation of the Safety Management System.
· Tracks and monitors SMS level specific KPI’s.
· Create and continually improve SMS specific training such as Supervisor Hazard identification/Mitigation and Supervisor Safety Communication Skills, Roles, and Responsibilities.
· Ensure the integrity of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations.
· Performs other duties as needed.
Required Experience and Education:
· Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent education and/or experience.
· 6-8 years’ relevant experience or equivalent education and/or experience.
· 1-3 years of management experience.
· Safety training and certificates preferred.
· Knowledge of OSHA safety disciplines, other regulatory guidelines, and common industrial safety practices.

· High degree of professionalism, judgment, maturity, and resourcefulness in the absence of formalized guidelines and procedures.
