Dental Treatment Coordinator
Tamal Vista Family Dentistry – Downtown San Rafael** Full-Time | 38 Hours/Week | $33–$37 per hour (DOE) + Bonus Potential
About Us
Tamal Vista Family Dentistry is a well-established general and cosmetic dental practice serving patients ages 3-103+. Our doctors- Dr. James McDowell, Dr. Daniel Scott and Dr. Chris Bayer, and team are committed to clinical excellence, patient education, and long-term relationships built on trust. We pride ourselves on a supportive, collaborative culture and a high standard of care.
We are seeking an experienced Dental Treatment Coordinator to join our front office team. The ideal candidate is confident presenting treatment plans, knowledgeable about dental insurance, and passionate about patient communication and case acceptance.
Key Responsibilities
Present and explain dental treatment plans clearly and professionally
Verify dental insurance eligibility and benefits
Calculate and collect co-pays and patient balances
Coordinate financial arrangements, including third-party financing
Track and follow up on unscheduled treatment and hygiene recare
Maintain productive doctor and hygiene schedules
Answer phones and manage patient scheduling
Check patients in and out efficiently
Support hygiene team with periodontal charting/full mouth probing as needed
Provide exceptional customer service at every patient interaction
Required Qualifications
Minimum 2–3 years dental front office experience (required)
Experience presenting treatment plans and discussing finances
Strong knowledge of dental insurance and benefit breakdowns
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask
Team-oriented with a positive, professional attitude
Compensation & Benefits
$33–$37 per hour (based on experience)
