Amazon XL Warehouse Associate

Job Overview

You’ll be part of the Amazon warehouse team that handles the big stuff – those unique customer orders that weigh over 50 pounds: big-screen TVs, furniture, appliances, and more. Many shifts will have you working with your teammates, tackling those hands-on items that need expert handling before they head out for delivery.

Basic Job Requirements

1. Be 18 years or older

2. Understand and follow instructions in English

3. Lift up to 49 pounds

4. Use safe practices and methods to handle products heavier than 50 pounds, using multiple techniques including team lift

5. Stand and walk, as well as push, pull, squat, bend, and reach frequently during shifts

6. Use carts, dollies, hand trucks, and other gear to move items around

7. Go up and down stairs (where applicable)

What You’ll Do

1. Receive, sort, and move heavy and bulky inventory

2. Load boxes into trucks for shipment

3. Use technology such as computers and smart phones

4. View prompts on screens and follow directions for some tasks

Schedule Options

1. Shift Options. Overnight, Early Morning, and Daytime shift options only.

2. Weekly Hours. Full-Time (40 hours), Reduced-Time (30-39 hours), Part-Time (20-29 hours), or Flex-Time (as little as 4 hours per week).

3. XL Sortation Centers: Full-Time, Reduced-Time, Part-Time, and Flex-Time options available.

4. XL Delivery Stations: Part-Time and Flex-Time options available.

5. Schedule Flexibility. Choose from a Fixed weekly schedule or Flexible schedules.

6. Work-Life Balance. 3-day weekends available on select shifts, with opportunities for overtime when available.

What it's like inside an Amazon XL Warehouse

1. Safety. Your safety is our top priority. We provide protective gear and all teams share safety tips daily. Our state-of-the-art facilities are clean, well-organized, and designed with your safety in mind.

2. Equipment. You’ll be working around pallet jacks, mobile carts, and rolling cages.

3. Physical Activity. Some activities may involve standing in one place for extended periods, walking throughout the facility, or climbing stairs. Certain tasks may also require moving, pushing, pulling, and handling extra-large items.

Work Conditions

1. Temperature. Climate-controlled facilities maintain temperatures between 60°F and 90°F in most areas.

2. Noise level. It can get noisy at times. We provide hearing protection if you need it.

3. Dress code. Dress comfortably—closed-toe shoes required. Protective safety footwear required in select areas. $110 Zappos gift code provided for your first day.
